Elton never got to read Jack Kirby's Kamandi, the Last Boy on Earth as a kid.

So when he finally read it 2.5 years ago, it made him lose his mind and decide he wanted to write comic books for a living!

Read It all started with Kamandi today, only @ Scryptic Studios.

Just read this week's column. It really hit home.

I am 41 with 3 kids. Two of them are big-time readers (partially because they see Daddy doing it all the time. Yeah - even when indisposed.)read comics and one just drools.

I've been working on a few novels and many SF shorts for years and I still shudder to think of all the time I wasted BK (before kids - wasting time in Burger King is another topic.) with naps and TV.

But I might be a better writer now because of the kids. I am the sole bread-winner but I have started to sneak in a little time here and there for writing again. My hat is off to you, Elton, for going down your 5-year path of full-time writer. Good for you.

Take care - keep the columns coming. We are out here and we are reading them.
